CLINTON FISH AND GAME CLUB
2004 SUMMER SPORTING CLAYS LEAGUE RULES

  1. League is open to members and non-members of the club. League participants must be signed up before shooting any league rounds. The league will be shot utilizing the woods sporting clays shoot days (see #6 below for dates).

  2. League participants are required to shoot a minimum of 6 rounds, 300 Targets total. Shooters can only shoot one league round per week. The shooter’s first round of the day must be counted as the league round. If the round is going to be counted the shooter must state so when he/she is paying for the round, not after the round has started. League participants are allowed to shoot more than the minimum 6 rounds, and the highest scoring 6 rounds will be averaged for his/her score. This way, if you shoot really bad one week, you can try to improve your score another week.

  3. A one-time league participation fee of $15 is due at the time of signup for the league. The $15 fee collected from each league participant will be put into a pot and then divided up upon completion of the league. The pot will be divided up evenly between three classes with the money going to the first place shooter in each class. The Lewis Class scoring system will be used. The $15 league fee does not include any sporting clays round charges – the shooter is still responsible for all round fees.

  4. The sporting clays course design will be changed for every shoot date so that the same course will not be shot twice.

  5. Amount of prize money awarded will be based on the number of entrants who obtain the minimum 6 rounds. If a shooter cannot obtain the minimum 6 rounds, he/she forfeits their entry fee. Exceptions will only be made in special situations and will be left entirely up to the discretion of the Sporting Clays Chairman and committee members. Participants may also make up rounds if they are unable to complete the minimum 6 rounds in the time allotted. This must also be approved by the Sporting Clays Chairman and committee in advance of the make-up rounds being shot.

  6. National Sporting Clays Association (NSCA ) rules will apply during all league rounds. All discrepancies will be decided by the Sporting Clays Chairman and committee. The Chairman’s and committee’s ruling is final and all league participants agree to abide by their decisions.

  7. Shooting dates eligible for league shooting are: 4/18, 4/25, 5/16, 5/23, 6/6, 6/20, 7/4, 7/18, 8/1, 8/15, 8/29, 9/12, 9/26, 10/3, & 10/17. Some of the shooting dates listed may held as 100 bird shoots or trophy shoots. If this occurs, league shooters can shoot the 100 bird event, but only their first fifty birds through the woods will be counted as the league round.

  8. League participants are to verify the accuracy of their scorecards before turning them in. Once submitted, scores will be double checked and posted. Any discrepancies or disagreements in score must be brought to the immediate attention of the Sporting Clays Chairman and/or Committee members. Any discrepancies will be reviewed and ruled upon by the Chairman and Committee, and their decision is final.
