CLINTON FISH AND GAME CLUB NEWSLETTER
MARCH 2007 - CLUB NEWS AND EVENTS

Come on Spring
Spring is almost here and the snow is melting FAST.
April 21st and 28th are Spring Clean Up Days.
Bring a rake, a pair of gloves and a willingness to work.
The club grounds always need a good sprucing up come spring.
If everyone helps a little the work goes faster.
We have a dedicated core group of people who always help out.
It would be nice to see some new faces come and help with the general work.

Sporting Clays: The sporting clays season has gotten of to a great start.  Shooting in the woods, during the winter has produced some great courses and the shooters are coming out in force to enjoy everything it has to offer. Skeet:  Sunday skeet is growing each week.  The skeet fields are busy as ever and all three fields are being used as much as possible.  See the events list below for an up and coming skeet camp we will be hosting.
5-Stand - Still the best 5-stand course in the area.  Great targets, challenging with a big variety of targets and three different levels to the game.  A great game for all levels of shooters.  Don't miss out on this great game. Trap:  Still a favorite among a lot of us.  With the different games that can be played from regular trap to scrap trap (shooting trap from the skeet pads) there is a lot of fun to be had with this old favorite.  Started shooting some partners trap, if you don't know what it is come out and watch.  Hint; you need a partner on your team to shoot it.
Club House Combination: Due to problems with access to the club house the combination to the door has been changed.  The board of directors has also decided that the combination is not to be given out to the general membership.  If you need access to the club house for any reason please contact a board member. Tenant:  Jerry Rubitski our long time tenant to the old club house has moved out.  A work crew is now involved in clean up, repair and then the job of finding a new tenant. (May already have that last issue covered).  If you can help out with painting, wall paper or just lend us a hand, give the club a call or stop by and let us know.
Beretta Urika 391 Raffle: Your choice of 12ga or 20ga, barrel length and style.  Cost $10.00 per ticket with a limit of 200 tickets being sold.  Proceeds go directly to the club.  For Tickets come to the club on Sunday and the front desk will have them. Youth Skeet Camp:  July 12th, 13th and 14th.  Ages 12-18, If you know of a young person wanting to learn skeet and receive some formal training this is the perfect opportunity.  Three days of training in the fundamentals of skeet shooting.  Contact Ray Majka, 404-5024 (Cell) or stop by and see him at the club on Sundays.
Hunter Safety: We will be holding a hunter safety class April 12th, 13th and 14th.  If anyone is interested please contact David Cruger. 725-2436 (Cell) or come see me at the club.  Limited to 20 people, so sign up early. Special Events: We have 4 major events planed this year at the club.  June 30th is the Boy Scout charity event, July 28th is the Hospice charity event, August 26th we are having the Beretta shoot and September 8th is our annual memorial shoot.  See the back of this news letter for more details on each event.
Membership Drive:  This month we held a membership drive at Gander Mountain.  We passed out a lot of club information and talked to a lot of potential new members.  Thanks to Al Paniccia, John La Porte, Mike La Porte, Ed Powers, Manny Clothakis and Sal Aversa for helping to staff the table.
General Membership Meeting Dates: 3/27, 4/24, 5/29, 6/26, 7/31, 8/28, 9/25, 10/30, 11/27, 12/18
