CLUB NEWS AND EVENTS

CLEAN UP
With the coming of Spring and Summer there are always clean up projects that need to be done.
Help is always needed in every area.  Bring a rake, broom, shovel or just your hands.
Remember this is an ALL Volunteer Club.  It's time to volunteer for something.

NSCA Level I Certification: The following club members have successfully completed a 3 day certification program and are now NSCA Level I certified instructors: Bruce Wellman, David Cruger, Dom Leone, Joe Chambrone and John Kleaka.

Special Thanks to Ray Majka for donating his time and knowledge for instruction. F.E.R Shooting, Ltd. for donating the lunches.  Al Leone for cooking all the lunches.  Joe Cifarelli/Easy Auto for donating the targets and giving his full support of this program.  Also thanks to Mike Cardillo and Justin Costantine for volunteering to be students for the new instructors.

July 15th - The Step Outside program.  Members bring the wife, kids and anyone new you want to introduce to the shooting sports.  This is an introductory event for new and novice shooters.  A great event to meet everyone and get new people into the shooting sports.  A detail flyer has been included.  Demo guns and NSCA Instructors will be available. Sponsored by Gander Mountain and NSSF Gun Locks. To date CFAGC has distributed 8,000 gun locks and expects to order another 5,000 locks by the end of July.  Al Leone and Ray Majka have been working hard with the NSSF and the Child Safe program to make CFAGC one of the largest distributors of gun locks in the country.  Thanks for all the hard work Al and Ray for helping with the distribution and storage of these locks.    These locks cost the club $0.  This program is fully funded by the NSSF the club is just the distribution center.
Thursday - Starting Thursday 6/8 Skeet and Trap will be open at 4:00pm until dusk.
Insurance Costs: Are again on the rise as is everything else.  This is not easy for the club to absorb.  Help keep target waste to a minimum and if you shoot any extra targets please pay for them. June 17th - Dave M. Philipson Memorial Sporting Clays Tournament.  Benefiting the Boy Scouts of America Revolutionary Trails Council.  Come shoot this great event.  If you have some spear time we can use more volunteers to help run the event.
Need Trappers:  We are looking for a few good young boys/girls to be trappers.  Age 15+ years preferred, hard working and willing to help out on Sundays and during special events.  If you know of anyone please contact Ray Majka.  If you see a new trapper in the woods, be patient and lend them a hand if they need it. Shooting Crows:  Dead crows were left in the pond.  Please remember there is no small game hunting on club property.  Also remember crow season is over, this is a violation of hunting law and will not be tolerated. New Board Member:  Ray Majka has been elected to the board of directors and will be Shooting Venues chairman.  Ray replaces Dave Parda who has resigned his position.  Thanks Ray and I'm sure he will produce some great shooting opportunities for us all.
New Traps: Some of the new traps are in.  The new Teal trap for the 5-stand is working great.  Two new LaPorte traps are in skeet field #3.  We are still waiting on the two additional automatic traps for the woods. Health Inspector: New signs have been posted about dogs (animals) in the club house. The health inspector will be conducting spot inspections and we will be fined this is violated in any way. Pheasant Release: George Mair is looking into raising  pheasant and a hunting program for members only.  Please get with George Mair and let him know if you are interested in this program.
Rifle Range:  Please follow all rifle range rules to the letter. Shoot safely, clean up after your done and do not drive on the grass to get the shooting benches.  A details list of range rules has been included. Rules for general conduct, off hours shooting and general safety rules can be found on the website in the 'About The Club' section. Member Notice:  Justin Costantine has earned his first NRA Award for skeet shooting in the marksmanship program.  Congratulations Justin.
