CLINTON FISH & GAME CLUB NEWSLETTER
JULY 2004

The dog days of summer are here. The weather is hot, and so are the sporting clays through the woods. The shooting has been terrific so far, but it will get even better. Special thanks goes out to Dave Parda. Dave recently went through the woods with his tractor and cleared out a lot of brush and undergrowth. This gives us many different windows and angles to throw targets through. The following days remain for the 2004 sporting clays schedule: 07/18, 08/01, 08/15, 08/29, 09/12, 09/26, 10/03 & 10/17. The 8/15 shoot will be a 100-bird trophy shoot. More details will be sent once the target menu has been determined. We have new shooting cages for some of the stations – Thanks goes out to everyone who helped build them. We have been able to shoot the pond (with steel loads) as the last station since the Canadian goose turned chicken and disappeared  Click here to view the current 2004 sporting clays scores.

NOTICE OF CHANGES TO CFAGC BY-LAWS

The club’s current by-laws were quite out of date, so it was decided at the May meeting that a committee would be formed and new tentative by-laws would be drawn up to get the club up to date. The tentative by-laws were drawn up and presented to the members attending the June meeting, and a brainstorming session was held during the meeting. Some new ideas were incorporated into the tentative by-laws, and they are now ready to be presented to the general membership at the July meeting to be voted on. Copies of the current and tentative by-laws are available for download, or are also available for viewing at the club on Thursday nights and Sundays.

The next club meeting will be July 27th at 7:00 PM. All club members are urged to attend. The only way you can know what’s happening is by being involved – So be involved and see what’s happening at the club firsthand.
